![]() ![]() This way the receiver is sending out the signal to the TV and not the PS3 alone. All product names, logos, and brands are the property of their respective owners. The only thing I can think of to fix this is to have the PS3's HDMI running to a receiver, and the receiver having another HDMI cable running to the TV. As long as the cable being plugged into the PS3 is HDMI, it will still blink. DVI-to-HDMI cables do the same thing on the PS3. This is not just an HDMI issue with Westinghouse's though, because my HDMI works fine on my computer, and on my upscaling dvd player. Unless you are sitting directly in front of the Sony and at the perfect height to it, it looks like crap elsewhere.Īlso, the factory settings on my Westinghouse and the AVIA guide to home theater disc seem to both agree that the default settings are about already as accurate as I can get it with the AVIA disc. ![]() I have compared mine to the 60" Sony XBR3 and I actually prefer mine more than the Sony. That's complete BS.Īside from this minor annoyance, I truly believe that the Westinghouse brands of TV's are very great, especially considering the much lower cost. which would leave me without a tv for a good while and have to pay shipping. I have contacted Westinghouse about the situation and they told me I would have to send the tv back to their company to have the firmware update done. For now I'm using the component until I can find a way to fix it. I own a 42" Westinghouse LCD and it has the same issue. in any case, it seems that the issue COULD be fixed from sony's end, if they would buckle down and get it done. it might be a general HDMI handshaking issue that only affects certain HDMI chipsets. i've heard reports of LCDs from other manufacturers having this same problem. ![]() it's not entirely clear whether the issue is totally westinghouse's fault or if the blame lies partially with sony. i'm still absolutely fine with my decision to buy a 37 inch 1080p LCD, that performs very well in most respects, for less than $1000, half a year ago.ĭo i wish that this issue would be fixed? yes. perhaps if you read a review or two, you'd realize that the westinghouse LVM-xxWx line has offered budget-priced 1080p LCDs that perform well beyond their price range for quite some time. some of us want LCD TVs, but don't have thousands upon thousands of dollars to spend on Sony XBR3s. crawl back under that rock you came from.Īside from this issue of minor annoyance, this set has been MORE than fine. I didn't start this thread so that you could bash the Westinghouse brand or owners of Westinghouse TVs. All you ppl said it would be fine but it isnt. ![]() We were telling you to buy a good brand and not a washer dryer company one. ![]()
